  • AltaVault アプライアンスは、バックアップ用のファイルを受信すると、次の 3 種類のセグメントタイプに分割して処理し、クラウドにアップロードします。 
    • .lm ファイル。名前と、ファイルのセグメントを保持するメタデータとスラブを保持するラベルマップです
    • .rbtmd ファイルのすべてのメタデータを保持するファイル。.rbtmd 1 つのファイルには、 1 つのファイルのメタデータのみが保持されます
    • .slabファイルのデータセグメントを保持する多くのファイルで.slabは、 1 つ以上のファイルのセグメントを保持できます
  • AltaVault アプライアンスからファイルが削除された場合
    • 次に.lm.rbtmd、このファイルのとの両方が削除対象としてマークされ、次のガベージコレクションプロセスの後に処理されます
    • .slabただし、ファイルは別のルールセットに従います。
      • ローカルキャッシュにスラブがある場合、削除されたファイルのデータを保持するスラブセグメントはゼロ化され、サイズが縮小され、クラウドでの更新のためにキューに入れられます。これは、クラウドの使用率が低下することを意味します
      • スラブがローカルにキャッシュされておらず、完全に参照されていない場合（削除されたファイルのセグメントがスラブに保持される場合があります）、クラウドで削除するためにキューに追加されます
      • スラブがローカルではなく、まだ削除されていない別のファイルのセグメントも保持している場合、セグメントは参照されます。つまり、そのスラブのクラウド使用量は、保持しているすべてのデータセグメントから完全に参照されなくなるまで維持されます
