  • ノンストップオペレーションとは、clustered Data ONTAP の基本機能であるNDOです
  • CIFS /サーバメッセージブロック(SMB)はステートフルプロトコルであるため、一部のノンストップオペレーションにおいても継続的なデータ可用性は維持されません
  • SMBおよびclustered Data ONTAP の新しいバージョンの導入に合わせて、いくつかの機能強化が実装されています
    • SMB1.0は、永続的なファイルハンドルや永続的なファイルハンドルがないと、プロトコル固有の制限があるためにネットワークの停止を回避できませんでした
    • SMB2.0には、永続性ハンドルというファイルハンドルが導入されています。このハンドルは、ネットワークの短時間の停止時にクライアントが再接続できるように、開いているファイルハンドルです
    • clustered Data ONTAP 8.2では、継続的可用性(CA)を備えたMicrosoft HyperV環境でSMB 3.0のNDOが導入され、NDOのサポートが強化されています。これにより、継続的なデータ可用性が向上します

  • 注: SMB 2.xファイル共有に接続されたアプリケーションで、アプリケーションが同じファイルへのマルチユーザアクセスを許可している場合、またはLIFの移行の実行から15分以内に開いているファイルハンドルを取得していないアプリケーションが複数の場合は、システムが停止する可能性があります
  • つまり、SMB 2.0以降では永続性ハンドルが有効になっていても、永続性ハンドルが正常に付与されないことがあるため、継続的なデータ可用性を維持できない可能性があります
