  • FabricPoolは、接続されているオブジェクトストアからブロックを削除しません。
  • 代わりに、オブジェクト内のブロックの一定の割合がONTAPで参照されなくなった時点で、FabricPoolはオブジェクト全体を削除します。
    • たとえば、Amazon S3に階層化された4MBのオブジェクトには、1、024個の4KBブロックがあります。
  • 顧客/クライアントアプリケーションがオブジェクト内にコールドブロックを含むファイルに対して削除または書き込みを行うと、コールドブロックは参照されなくなりますが、オブジェクト内には残ります。
    • この断片化は、 再生されないスペースのしきい値を超え てオブジェクトが削除され、既存の参照ブロックが新しいオブジェクトに格納されるまでゆっくりと蓄積されます。
  • デフラグと削除は、205個未満の4KBブロック（1、024個の20%）がONTAPによって参照されるまで実行されません。
    • 参照がない十分な数のブロック（1、024個）になると、元の4MBオブジェクトが削除され、新しいオブジェクトが作成されます。
