GiveBack during upgrade aborted and subsequent TakeOver not possible due to failed to disable BDFU on source node

Issue

  • During non-disruptive ONTAP upgrade, first node in the HA partner upgrades successfully
  • The partner upgrade completes But is left in a  partial giveback.

An optimized negotiated takeover of the HA partner node by the local node has been aborted.
Reason: failed to disable background disk firmware update (BDFU) on partner node
