As detailed in the following KB, filesystem metadata can grow when a user data has been deleted and the volume has been downsized: https://kb.netapp.com/on-prem/ontap/...User_data_size The current workaround is to recreate the volume and move the data. This request for enhancement is being created to create a non-disruptive way to reclaim the filesystem metadata when this is experienced.
