最新の FAS システムには、オペレータが注意が必要な Field Replaceable Unit ( FRU )を識別するために役立つ、戦略的に配置されたオレンジ色の障害 LED が多数搭載されています。

ほとんどの FRU は別の FRU に含まれています。例:

  • コントローラ、 IOXM 、電源装置、ファン、ディスクドライブの FRU は、シャーシの FRU に含まれています
  • PCI カード FRU は、コントローラと IOXM の両方の FRU に含まれています
  • DIMM およびブートデバイスの FRU は、コントローラの FRU に含まれています

FRU がオペレータの注意を必要とする場合、対応する FRU 障害 LED が点灯します。その FRU が別の FRU の内部にある場合は、外部 FRU の障害 LED も点灯します。この FRU の外側の障害 LED を点灯するプロセスは、一番外側の FRU に到達するまで繰り返されます。その結果、オレンジ色の障害 LED が点灯し、注意が必要な最も内側の FRU を特定できます。

すべての製品にすべてのタイプの FRU が搭載されているわけではありませんが、すべての FAS 製品で FRU の階層は同じです。一番外側の FRU から順に、階層は次のように表示されます。

の例:コントローラ内のDIMMに注意が必要な場合は、コントローラの障害LEDとシャーシの障害LEDが点灯します。

FRU 障害 LED がシステムの外側から見えない場合は、内蔵 FRU (通常はコントローラまたは IOXM )をシャーシから取り外すと点灯したままになります。これにより、注意が必要な FRU を簡単に見つけることができます。現在のバージョンの Data ONTAP では、 FRU の保守が行われたことは検出されないため、障害のある FRU を交換しても、 FRU 障害 LED は消灯しません。その結果、外部から見えない障害 FRU を交換した場合でも、 Data ONTAP に明示的に電源をオフにするように命令されるまで、障害 LED のパスはオンのままになります。通常、障害LEDは、停止halt -sを伴うコマンドの実行時にオフfru_led off allにするか、(diag権限)コマンドを無停止で実行します。

現在のバージョンの Data ONTAP では、発生した障害のデータベースは維持されません。代わりに、障害が発生すると、通知メッセージが記録され、障害 LED の階層が点灯して、障害のある FRU への LED のパスが作成されます。そのため、障害の原因を特定するには、ある程度の調査が必要です。
