問題

  • The default behavior of ONTAP on AFF and ASA systems is to partition up to 24 SSDs per node (48 SSDs per HA pair) when the system is first initialized.
  • ONTAP has historically partitioned spare SSDs when needed for storage expansion or RAID reconstruction.
  • There should be a configuration option in ONTAP to always partition spare SSDs on AFF systems after system initialization.
